Beth Ezra is a wonderfully happy independently run home for the elderly, providing high quality residential care in a Christian setting.
The house was originally built around 1920 and is set in beautiful gardens. Originally converted in 1984 with many upgrades since to provide individual rooms and care facilities, Beth Ezra is now a delightful caring home registered for nineteen residents.
Beth Ezra is located between Banstead and Purley in Surrey, well served by public transport that makes London and Croydon most accessible and is about 20 minutes from the M25. There is a shop on the village green nearby and a wide range of local amenities a short car ride away. Residents are encouraged to live as full a lifestyle as possible with many stimulating activities on offer if desired.
Situated on the ground floor is a spacious and homely lounge for mixing with other residents, and a conservatory which acts as a nice space to meet visitors. The lift gives easy access to the first floor. To confirm the quality of care, the latest Care Quality Commission report shows all 5 standards are being met. Typical of residents using the service is the comment “Only one word describes the home: it begins with E – for Excellent.” A visiting relative says of Beth Ezra, “This is home from home.”
The manager of Beth Ezra would be pleased to take calls from you if you have any questions. However, to fully appreciate and witness the high quality service and care available at Beth Ezra, or to discuss your individual requirements, we strongly recommend a pre-arranged personal visit.
The Christadelphians* are a Bible based fellowship, and worldwide there are various care facilities provided primarily for members of the Faith, but not exclusively so. The Beth Ezra care home in Purley was purchased with voluntary contributions from the fellowship and opened in 1984.
● The object was to provide a home which is God-centred in the way that Christadelphians conduct their lives in their own homes. For this reason, a Sunday morning communion service is provided in the Home for members only, and at various times Bible classes are held.
● It is Christadelphian practice to read the Bible regularly, and a time is set aside each day in the lounge for sharing a Bible reading and some discussion for those who wish to attend. Also, before communal meals, it is common practice for a Christadelphian resident or visitor to give thanks.
● The guiding principles held by the Christadelphians are Bible based as we hold the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. We accept God as the creator and sustainer of life, and believe Him to be all-powerful and ever-present. Members of the Faith have all been baptised into the name of Christ and share the hope of the Gospel to be realised in the establishment of the Kingdom of God at the return of His son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to the Earth.
● The Christadelphians have no paid clergy and we meet together for worship, study and fellowship in hired premises or in houses without the need for a traditional church building.
● Because of our shared beliefs, life in Beth Ezra is conducted on Christian principles. All new members of staff are, at interview, made aware of the need to respect this, and we will not tolerate swearing or bad language.
● Because of our hope of resurrection to salvation at the return of Christ, Beth Ezra offers end of life care tailored to the expectation of residents and their families.
● For more than forty years, Beth Ezra has been able to offer a peaceful, caring and reverent environment for people to enjoy whether their time with us is long or short. It is our hope and prayer that God will continue to bless us in this way.
